Went flying in a Cessna

I got to fly in a Cessna today. The plane was built in 1961. It is older than me. We flew from Concord to Petaluma. On the way to Petaluma I sat in the back. On the way back from Petaluma I sat in the right seat. I did get the chance to take the controls and fly it for a few seconds. And I learned a lot. It was nice being at around 2500 feet up too, reinvigorates the hunt for other perspectives.
We flew from Buchanan air field in Concord to a small airport in Petaluma, CA via over the Bay and along part of the coast. Most of the coast is blanketed in fog.

As part of a drill and Fleet Week exercises this US Navy Hovercraft landed at Ocean beach in San Francisco.

Photographed two events in San Francisco today. First event was the landing of a U.S. Navy hovercraft on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, California. It was landed there as part of a drill for Fleet Week 2012. It was a neat scene, and got some nice pics. Flickr photo gallery >>>here<<<

Check out this iReport of my coverage of the Hovercraft

This was a near collision, and was tight, but it is what I expect from America’s Cup Racing.

Also went to the America’s Cup World Series races today. Got some nice pics from that event too. There was a lot of tight racing and near collisions, which is what I am expecting from the ACWS. Flickr Gallery >>>>Here<<<
I was a bit irked today though because the mobile app wasn’t working, and had to be updated.
